Happy 1-Year Merger-versary to Us!
One year ago, we unified two legacy organizations with over 130 years of collective service. In just 12 months, we’ve expanded our impact, strengthened our programs, and deepened our commitment to the 6,500 youth we serve across North County.
This includes expanding our free healthy meal program to more locations, offering increased programming for youth throughout the community, and ensuring that we fulfill our mission to inspire all young people to reach their fullest potential.
“The time, effort, and dedication invested in making the merger successful cannot be overstated. This past year has been one of learning, growth, and transformation. As I reflect on our journey, I am extremely proud of the progress we have made and excited about our continued momentum,” said Marineke Vandervort, CEO
Now positioned as the second-largest Club in San Diego County, BGCNWSD will honor this merger with events at all Club locations throughout July. Additionally, the merger will be celebrated at the upcoming Youth of the Year event on July 26th at the Del Mar Race Track.
The organization expresses sincere gratitude to its members, families, staff, and supporters who helped make this first year truly unforgettable. Here’s to growing greater together.

Funding cuts put our food program at risk.
