FREE Daily Meal for Every Kid 18 & Under

Our Oceanside Clubhouse serves a free, fresh meal to any child 18 & under after school. Meals are prepared daily by chefs in our community workforce program. No sign-ups. No cost. No barriers.

Monday-Friday, 3:30 – 4:30 PM (Excluding Club Closures)

  • Club membership not required
  • Must be accompanied by an adult
  • Meals must be enjoyed on site

Jump in and Learn to Swim this Summer!

In partnership with our Pardee Aquatic Center, our swimmers will enjoy a 30-minute group swim lesson on Tuesdays & Thursdays plus an additional 1-hour Free Swim after each lesson to play and practice the skills they learned. On the last day of the swimming lesson, we will walk to Fletcher Cove for Beach Day!

Attire: (belongings must be labeled)
Campers must arrive with swim wear on under clothes. Sunscreen will be applied at the pool. After Free Swim, campers may change in the locker rooms, which are monitored by staff and will assist campers if needed.

Required: swimsuit, towel, change of clothes; long hair secured with a ponytail.

Recommendation: swim goggles

Oceanside Group Swimming Lessons

Session A: June 16, 18, 23, 25 (4 lessons)
Session B: June 30 July 2, 7, 9 (4 lessons)

  • Each session includes (4) 30-minute lessons on Tues/Thurs followed by a 1-hour Free Swim
  • Ages 5-9 years old (group A: ages 5-6; group B: ages 7-9)
  • Cost: $50

Transportation: We offer safe and reliable round-trip transportation from Oceanside Clubhouse to Harper so parents can have peace of mind while campers focus on the fun! Drop-off by 11:45am pick-up 4:45-5:00pm. Transportation from the Oceanside Clubhouse to the Harper Clubhouse has been included in cost.

Lesson Descriptions

Ages 5-6

Sand Crab (Ratio 1:4)

Group A: Swimmers who enjoy the water but need assistance floating, gliding, kicking and arm strokes on their fronts and back
Ages 5-6

Sea Horse (Ratio 1:4)

Group A: swimmers refine front arm pull with coordinated breathing (rolling over to breathe) and back skills, floating, gliding, kicking, body balance and arm pull
Ages 7-9

Penguin (Ratio 1:5)

Group B: focuses on building confidence in the water while introducing freestyle and backstroke fundamentals, floating on front and back: gliding and kicking arm pulls and rolling to breathe
Ages 7-9

Otter (Ratio 1:5)

Group B: Freestyle techniques, side breathing, streamline position, Backstroke techniques, back balance, kicking, and arm pulls: Introduction to open turns/ flip turns and dolphin kick

Financial Assistance

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego never turns a child away. We are committed to providing safe, inclusive, high-quality, and affordable programming for all families. Financial assistance is available to those who may be unable to afford the programs offered at a fee. Assistance is program-specific and on a limited basis. All financial aid paperwork is kept confidential and must be filled out completely and turned in at least 5-7 business days prior to the program start date to allow for processing.
