Whether you’re dressing for the theme or simply for the evening, our vibe is The Future is Bright, Wear White! We’re taking inspiration from the  international Le Diner en Blanc event, so have fun with your look and bring your own twist to this celebration—just be sure to wear all white!

Congratulations, Quinn Cannon!

We are thrilled to have Quinn Cannon as our 2026 San Diego County Regional Youth of the Year.

Quinn: “My muscles were tense and my mind was racing. But when I stepped up to the blocks, my mind went quiet. The water swallowed me when I dove in. As I slammed my hand into the wall 200 meters later, I lifted my head to see my teammate launch off the blocks. I climbed out and cheered her on in the anchor leg of our relay. With one hundred meters left, tied with Ukraine, Italy in our sights and Poland a split second behind us, we fought for a podium finish. As we pulled ahead and secured the bronze medal, my teammates signed that I had just won my first medal with Team USA at the 2025 Tokyo Deaflympics.

None of this would have been possible had I not stepped onto the pool deck at the Boys & Girls Club eleven years ago. I remember clinging to my mom as we entered, unsure of what was ahead. I was born profoundly Deaf, and my cochlear implants gave me the chance to hear and learn to speak. At my first swim lesson, the water looked daunting, but the moment I plunged into the cold water, I’d never felt so alive. From summer swim lessons to countless hours of practice, the pool became my happy place—a refuge after long days of school and tiring lessons where I strained to hear my classmates.

My first instructor was Coach Bryan. He taught me the basics when I was a clumsy four-year-old, teaching me all four strokes along with life lessons I will never forget: be kind, never give up, work hard, and never let anyone tell you that you can’t do something. “Quinny, you can do anything you set your mind to.” Coach Bryan taught me for four years until it was time to try out for the swim team. That tryout launched an incredible journey.

The people at the Boys & Girls Club have shaped who I am today. They’ve taught me perseverance and teamwork. I’ve learned to advocate for what I need, whether asking teammates to relay coaches’ instructions through the noise or informing meet officials that I need a tapper to signal when it’s time to dive off the blocks. Like the swimmers who encouraged me to dream big, I now cheer on the next generation and teach them to believe in themselves.

That first plunge changed me for the better. I gained the confidence to advocate for myself. The little Deaf girl from eleven years ago became a fourteen-year-old with a big dream and a Club community backing her every step of the way. I want to use the skills I’ve developed as a Deaf athlete and student to inspire future generations. Thanks to my parents and one unforgettable day in my rainbow suit, I found a sanctuary, lifelong friendships, and a home within the gates of the Harper Boys and Girls Club.”

Make a Difference

In 2024, Boys & Girls Clubs of San Dieguito and Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside joined forces as Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego. United, our mission remains steadfast: to provide safe, nurturing environments where children and teens from all backgrounds can grow, learn, and succeed. With eight clubhouses and specialized programs, we now offer expanded services, from after-school support to teen leadership initiatives, with a shared commitment to character-building, academic achievement, and personal growth.

Now, our Club is the second largest Boys & Girls Club organization in San Diego County. Our Club is defined as a Major Metro Organization by Boys & Girls Clubs of America due to the size of our annual budget and the number of children we serve.

 Today, our organization serves:

– 6,500 registered members in our After School Program

– 16,500+ total number of youth served

– $655,000+ in financial assistance awarded each year
